D3 Search is currently seeking a Snr. Litigation Legal Assistant on behalf of a highly respected NY-based international law practice with a long-standing office in Los Angeles, CA (90067).

Employment Status:

Full-time/direct-hire employment. 37.5-hour week. Non-exempt role (OT in accordance w/ CA laws).


Employer Work Model:

Hybrid 3 onsite/2 remote work model.


Position Summary📒:

Prominent NY-based international law practice is currently seeking a highly organized and proactive Snr. Litigation Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys in their Litigation Department. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of both Federal and California State court procedures and will play an integral role in managing case files, preparing legal documents, coordinating filings, and supporting attorneys throughout all phases of litigation.


This position requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys throughout all stages of litigation.
  • Prepare, revise, format, proofread, and finalize correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, tables of contents, tables of authorities, trial documents, and other legal documents.
  • File legal documents electronically in Federal and California State courts, ensuring compliance with all applicable court rules, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Monitor court dockets and maintain attorney calendars, including litigation deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial dates.
  • Coordinate service of process, court filings, messenger services, and document deliveries.
  • Assist with discovery by organizing document productions, preparing exhibits, maintaining indexes, and coordinating responses.
  • Prepare deposition and trial materials, including exhibit binders, witness files, trial notebooks, and hearing notebooks.
  • Schedule depositions, client meetings, expert witness meetings, mediations, and other litigation-related events.
  • Maintain electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Coordinate with court personnel, opposing counsel, clients, vendors, and outside service providers.
  • Review incoming court notices and correspondence to ensure appropriate calendaring and follow-up.
  • Process attorney time entries, expense reports, reimbursements, and client billing requests as needed.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Must function well in a team environment and be willing to support department assistants as-needed.


Skills & Competencies💡:

  • Demonstrated experience with Federal and California State court filings, including electronic filing (CM/ECF and California e-filing platforms).
  • Strong knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, California Rules of Court, and local court rules.
  • Experience preparing and filing pleadings, motions, discovery, tables of contents, tables of authorities, trial documents, and appellate documents preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in iManage, Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with legal calendaring software, document management systems, and litigation support technology.
  • Exceptional proofreading, grammar, formatting, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service.
  • Flexibility to adjust hybrid schedule and work overtime when business needs require.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with attorneys, staff, managers, clients, and the public.


Education, Licensing & Certifications🗝:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a litigation legal assistant in a law firm REQUIRED.


Annual Compensation/Salary💰& Benefits:
