Position: Mental Health Clinician

Location: East Elmhurst, NY 11370 (Rikers Island)

Job Type: Contract

Contract: 8 weeks with strong possibility of extension

Shift Time: 4:00 PM-12:00 AM

Guaranteed hours per week: 35.00

Pay: Up to $60/hr on W2


Job Summary

Pride Health is seeking a qualified Mental Health Clinician for a contract opportunity with a leading healthcare system in East Elmhurst, NY (Rikers Island). The clinician will provide comprehensive mental health services to incarcerated individuals, including assessments, crisis intervention, and ongoing treatment, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.


Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health evaluations, assessments, and crisis interventions

• Provide follow-up care and determine appropriate levels of treatment

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

• Coordinate discharge planning with Reentry Social Workers

• Facilitate group therapy sessions on mental health observation units

• Collaborate with correctional staff to ensure proper patient care and housing

• Participate in case conferences, treatment planning, and clinical rounds

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports

• Participate in weekly clinical supervision sessions

• May conduct psychological testing as assigned

• May supervise interns or student volunteers

• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership


Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field

• Active New York State License (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or Licensed Psychologist)

• Experience working with patients with behavioral issues, substance use, and severe mental illness

• Strong assessment, clinical, and crisis intervention skills

• Ability to work in a correctional or high-acuity environment
