Operations Manager – Americas | Steel Trading

Our client, a leading global trading and distribution organization, is looking for an experienced Operations Manager – Americas to lead its US operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role — the successful candidate must be comfortable leading teams while personally executing complex physical trade transactions end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage US and India Operations teams across trade execution
• Personally own trade deals end-to-end, from contract review through execution
• Manage Letters of Credit (LCs), banking and trade finance
• Handle customs/regulatory documentation and international logistics
• Coordinate with traders, banks, customs brokers, warehouses and logistics providers
• Manage inventory, payments, vendor coordination and operational escalations
• Drive process improvement, standardization and automation

Ideal Profile

• Strong, recent hands-on international trade operations experience
• Deep knowledge of LCs, banking, customs, logistics and Incoterms
• Proven operations/team-management experience
• Strong customer and stakeholder-management skills
• Steel/Metals Trading, Steel Mills, Commodities or Trading House experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, International Trade or related field
