Field Operations Manager Job Overview

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This position provides leadership, guidance, and support to superintendents, foremen, and field personnel while driving operational excellence, workforce development, and profitability.

The Field Operations Manager works closely with Project Management, Preconstruction, and Executive Leadership to ensure successful project execution while maintaining Servco’s commitment to quality, safety, professionalism, and client satisfaction. Below are the critical tasks of the position:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all field operations across multiple projects.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate field personnel, including foremen and tradesmen.
  • Conduct regular job site visits to monitor safety, quality, productivity, and overall project performance.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
  • Monitor labor productivity, material utilization, and equipment resources to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to support staffing, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and successful project execution.
  • Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules with Project Management to support project timelines.
  • Review project budgets, labor reports, and production metrics, identifying opportunities for cost savings and continuous operational improvement.
  • Identify and proactively resolve field challenges, operational issues, and resource constraints.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve field processes, procedures, and operational best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners.
  • Participate in operational planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives that support company growth.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department and company objectives.


Desired Skillset

Below is a list of the preferred qualifications and skillsets for this role:


  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a specific construction trade.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience leading construction field personnel.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, means, sequencing, and field operations.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated success in employee development, team building, and workforce management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and Bluebeam software.
  • Experience managing self-perform work and trade labor forces preferred.
  • Previous ownership or operation of a construction-related business is highly desirable.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.


Compensation Range and Benefits.

$120,000 – $155,000 annually. Compensation is offered based on work history, years of experience, professional achievements and other nondiscriminatory metrics and factors. This is a full-time, on-site role.
