OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Duration: 13 weeks

Schedule: Days 5x8, 40 hrs/week

Shift Hours: 07:00 - 15:30

Pay package for traveller - $18/hr (taxable) + $1106/wk. (travel reimbursement) = $1826/ week gross pay

Job Description:

The OR Technician/Surgical Technologist is responsible for preparing and maintaining the operating room, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Set up surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and sterile fields before surgery.
• Maintain sterility: Follow strict sterile techniques to prevent infection and contamination.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and surgical assistant during the operation.
• Comply with infection-control, surgical safety, and hospital policies.
• Work closely with surgeons, nurses, anaesthesiologists, and other OR personnel.

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience is required, with recent experience in the relevant field.

• Cholecystectomy
• Colon resection - Open/LAP,

Additional Qualifications:

Certifications: BLS, CST or NBSTSA
