Join an incredible team as the Payroll Manager to oversee the organization's nationwide payroll operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible that will support the full payroll lifecycle, working with both hourly and salaried employees in a complex, multi-state environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a nationwide employee population, including hourly and salaried employees
  • Oversee timekeeping, employee data, deductions, garnishments, PTO and leave payments, adjustments, final pay, and other payroll-related transactions
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with wage-and-hour and payroll tax requirements
  • Review payroll reports, reconciliations, allocations, and variances to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Lead and support the payroll team by assigning workloads, monitoring deadlines, and providing guidance on complex payroll issues
  • Partner closely with Human Resources, Benefits, Leave, Finance, Accounting, business leaders, and external payroll/HRIS providers
  • Support payroll tax filings, year-end processing, audits, reporting, and related compliance activities
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure payroll records and employee information are handled with a high degree of confidentiality
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems, controls, and overall efficiency
  • Assist with HRIS/payroll system functionality, testing, troubleshooting, and process improvements
  • Analyze payroll data and prepare management reports as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing, payroll taxes, wage-and-hour requirements, and compliance
  • Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations
  • Experience working with HRIS/payroll systems and external payroll vendors
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reconciliations
  • Experience with payroll allocations, audits, year-end processing, and payroll reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information appropriately
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively across HR, Finance, Accounting, and operational teams
  • CPP certification is highly desirable
