Northern New Jersey | High-Tech Manufacturing | Direct Hire


Nesco Resource is partnering with a global high-tech manufacturer to identify an experienced Plant Controller to lead the financial operations of its Northern New Jersey manufacturing facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing finance leader who enjoys partnering with Operations and senior management, analyzing plant performance, and using financial data to improve profitability and efficiency.


The Opportunity

The Plant Controller will have overall responsibility for the financial operations of the NJ manufacturing site, including month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, inventory valuation, financial analysis, and internal controls.

This individual will serve as a key business partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team, providing financial insight into production performance, product profitability, cost drivers, and opportunities for improvement.


What You'll Do

  • Lead the financial operations and accounting activities for the manufacturing plant.
  • Partner with the Plant Manager and leadership team to analyze business performance, profitability, production costs, and key financial drivers.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting for the U.S. business unit.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
  • Ensure financial reporting and accounting practices comply with GAAP and SOX internal controls.
  • Serve as the primary financial contact for internal and external audits.
  • Oversee product costing, including material, labor, and manufacturing overhead allocations.
  • Analyze production costs and manufacturing variances to identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate financial reporting of inventory.
  • Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs to measure plant performance and cost control.
  • Partner with Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and other departments on cost-reduction initiatives and process improvements.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisions and long-term planning.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and translate financial information into actionable recommendations for plant leadership.


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous Plant Controller, Controller, or senior manufacturing finance experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and inventory accounting.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and the financial impact of production costs and cost drivers.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls; SOX experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • CPA or CMA designation is preferred but not required.
