Everson Talent is working alongside a trusted recruiting partner to support the search for a Plant Controller at a Food & Beverage Manufacturing client.
This is more than a Controllership as our client is looking for a true business partner.
This is an opportunity for a manufacturing finance leader who wants to be close to the operation, influence decisions, and see the direct impact of their work. You'll bring financial insight to the plant floor, help leaders understand what is driving performance, and play a meaningful role in improving profitability, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Role Description:
Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Plant Controller is responsible for the integrity of plant financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory controls, budgeting and forecasting, performance analysis, and financial controls. The Plant Controller translates operational activity into clear financial insight and helps leaders understand the cost, margin, labor, yield, waste, and productivity implications of business decisions.
The Plant Controller will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, FSQA, Engineering/Maintenance, Human Resources, and corporate Finance.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Own plant financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Lead plant budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across labor, materials, overhead, capital, and operations.
- Oversee cost accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
- Work cross-functionally to improve productivity, cost performance, yield, waste, and profitability.
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support capital investments, sourcing, pricing, new products, and other strategic decisions.
- Maintain strong financial controls, compliance, inventory accuracy, and audit readiness.
- Develop the plant finance team while driving process improvement, productivity, and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field.
- 5-8+ years of accounting and finance experience, including experience in manufacturing.
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant advanced credential preferred.
- Strong experience with plant cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Experience partnering with plant operations and providing actionable insights based on financial analysis.
- Experience using a large ERP and manufacturing systems.
- Experience managing direct reports.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling experience is a plus.
- Food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, or other high-volume manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with union shops and multi-shift production preferred.
