Program Accountant (Temporary-Hybrid)
Uniondale, New York
Gramercy Risk Management, is seeking a Program Accountant to join our expanding company on a temporary basis. This position is designed to support accounting department and to manage all aspects of accounting and reporting within our programs division.
We are in search of a candidate to be full time, preferably with prior insurance industry experience. Currently, we are looking to fill the position in our main office, with some remote capability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monthly Carrier Reporting
- Annual Audits to Carriers
- Customized reports and analysis as requested
- Process inter-company Bank Transfers
- Prepare Commission Checks
- Assist with broker/insured phone calls
- Prepare and Send Out Invoices
- Reconciliation of Program Receipts and Payables
- Direct Bill Commission Receivables
- Assist with the Collection Process
- A/R Cash Applications Backup
- Assist with General Ledger transaction entry and bank reconciliations
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 3-5 years related experience
- General computer skills, ability to learn packaged software, adept at Excel & Word,
- Experience performing account reconciliations, and performing detailed analytics
- Ability to understand existing and implement new processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skill set
Schedule:
- 3 days in office, 2 Remote (Uniondale, NY)
- 35 hours/week with 1 hour lunch, 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday
Employment Type:
- 6-9 month temporary position with strong potential to evolve into a permanent role, subject to the return of the employee on leave
- FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
- Overtime: Paid in accordance with applicable federal and New York law (with advanced approval)
Pay: $46.00/hour
