Project Architects and Intermediate Architects | Transportation projects


Client :

Our client is a leading Architectural and Engineering firm planning, designing, managing, and engineering infrastructure and building projects across North America. With headquarters in NYC, the company employs over 3,000 professionals specializing in transportation, sustainability, educational, municipal, and large-scale commercial buildings.


Description:

Immediate need for Project Architects and Intermediate Architects to work on innovative projects that will shape the future of transportation and the communities in NYC that it serves. Key responsibilities will include working with and coordinating an architectural team preparing documentation for projects focused on transportation and in particular the 2nd Avenue subway extension into Harlem including three stations and ancillary buildings and facilities. Hybrid role based in Midtown Manhattan, Empire State Building.


Responsibilities:

  • Determine collectively with multiple design disciplines, the technical approach and design criteria.
  • Develop design details, architectural plans and/or supervise their execution
  • Perform architectural analysis and studies of design and construction systems, planning studies, design layout, and construction details.
  • Execute code analysis and technical solutions.
  • Serve as a quality-control reviewer.
  • Develop design layouts, construction features which require research and compiling information for assigned project.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines. Plan, schedule, coordinate, manage, and oversee the work.


Qualifications:


  • Seven (7) + years of experience in architecture and project delivery, preferably working in the rail / transit sector.
  • For most candidates, some experience in the rail / transit sector (including station design and related facilities) is required with some exceptions.
  • Prefer specific experience with Bentley Open Buildings 3D and MicroStation
  • Desire experience with Rhino, 3-D Max, Sketch-Up, AutoCAD, Revit
  • LEED accreditation is a plus.
  • Excellent design, technical detailing, and strong presentation skills.
  • Must have remained current in codes and technologies appropriate to the architecture discipline.
  • The candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for problem solving and teamwork.


Education:

BS or BA in Architecture is a MUST. MS. Arch desired.
