Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Support financial statement preparation and reporting activities
- Perform inventory accounting, including reconciliation of inventory balances and analysis of variances
- Assist with cost accounting functions, including standard costing, manufacturing variances, and expense analysis
- Prepare journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other accounting activities
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, supply chain, and production
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies within accounting operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or similar industry
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with inventory accounting and manufacturing cost analysis
- CPA/MBA
- Familiarity with SAGE/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.)
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial analysis functions
- Experience supporting process improvements and system implementations
