Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Prepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Support financial statement preparation and reporting activities
• Perform inventory accounting, including reconciliation of inventory balances and analysis of variances
• Assist with cost accounting functions, including standard costing, manufacturing variances, and expense analysis
• Prepare journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other accounting activities
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, supply chain, and production
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies within accounting operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or similar industry
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with inventory accounting and manufacturing cost analysis
• CPA/MBA
• Familiarity with SAGE/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.)
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial analysis functions
• Experience supporting process improvements and system implementations
