We are partnering with an established, privately held organization in the construction industry that is looking to add a Corporate Accountant to its team.
This is a unique opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to expand beyond a traditional corporate accounting role and gain exposure to both the financial and operational sides of the business. The position will initially provide hands-on exposure to project accounting and administration, with responsibilities expanding over time into broader corporate accounting, job costing, financial reporting, and month-end close.
Responsibilities
- Support corporate and project accounting activities
- Assist with AP, billing, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Support project-related billing, payment processing, and documentation
- Assist with job-cost accounting and project financial reporting
- Support journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Assist with annual financial statement audit requests and schedules
- Work with project teams to ensure accurate and complete financial information
- Identify discrepancies and follow through to resolution
- Help improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Take on increasing accounting responsibility as experience and knowledge develop
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting or related experience
- Experience with AP, AR, billing, reconciliations, job costing, or financial reporting
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of responsibilities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Construction or project accounting experience is preferred, but not required
- Experience with ERP, accounting, or project management systems is a plus
