Job Title: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports To: Senior Accounting Manager

Work Location: Remote (CA only)

Travel: Quarterly

Position: Full-Time

Compensation: $105-120k DOE

FLSA Status: Exempt


POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation gained through a combination of public accounting and private industry experience. This role will be responsible for supporting our A/R and A/P functions, the month-end close process, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and will partner with cross-functional teams to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and improving accounting processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Support month-end close activities for assigned functional areas including treasury, A/R, A/P, fixed assets, prepaids and accruals.

· Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

· Assist with the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements.

· Analyze financial results and identify variances, trends, and areas of concern.

· Manage all Accounts Payable functions including approving new vendors, reviewing and validating data accuracy of vendor invoices and payment transactions, and preparing annual 1099s.

· Manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable functions, including applications of cash receipts and credit memos, and reconciling A/R subledger reports to the General Ledger.

· Report issues or gaps identified in the daily accounting operations to the Senior Accounting Manager and propose solutions.

· Support external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.

· Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, GAAP, and company accounting policies.

· Assist with system implementations, special projects, and ad hoc initiatives as needed.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:


REQUIRED:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

· Previous experience as a Senior Accountant in a similar sized business and/or public company

· Five or more years’ experience in accounting

· Working knowledge of GAAP and controls implementation

· Experience analyzing problems and implementing systems, workflows and controls in a company with revenue growth

· Possess effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with team, peers, and management

· Prior experience with ERPs

· Possess a valid California Driver’s License

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel

· Must be at least 21 years of age.


DESIRED:

· CPA

· Big four or public accounting experience with exposure to audit engagements

· Experience working with Sage X3, SAP Concur
