A publicly traded firm in Hauppauge is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide critical support across accounting, financial reporting, and investor relations. This hybrid role blends hands-on accounting with exposure to public company reporting, quarterly earnings, and shareholder communications. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, attention to detail, and 2+ years of public accounting or finance experience, with a passion for accurate reporting and analytical insight.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Prepare and review financial schedules, journal entries, and account reconciliations for month-end close
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly earnings packages, board materials, and supplemental financial reporting
• Maintain accurate records for investor-facing disclosures and internal reporting dashboards
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across departments

Investor Relations Support

• Help prepare investor presentations, press releases, and quarterly earnings reports
• Ensure investor relations and internal financial reporting platforms are current and accurate
• Track institutional shareholder activity and prepare analysis for leadership review
• Respond to investor and analyst inquiries in coordination with senior management

Analysis & Modeling

• Perform detailed financial analysis of quarterly results, peer comparisons, and portfolio performance
• Review and update models for NAV, earnings, and operational metrics
• Provide insights into business performance, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities

Special Projects & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Assist in Annual Report, Proxy Statement, and shareholder meeting preparation
• Support ad hoc financial projects as assigned by leadership
• Collaborate across Accounting, Finance, and Investor Relations teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• 2+ years of professional experience in public accounting, finance, or investor relations
• CPA preferred
• Experience with publicly traded companies strongly preferred; commercial real estate experience is a plus
• Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and investor disclosure processes
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, or Adobe InDesign is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to meet tight deadlines with accuracy
