As the organization continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the organization’s financial reporting.

About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, and reconciliations
- Manage and drive an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
- Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Manage fund accounting, including tracking restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and program-specific expenses
- Monitor and report on restricted funds and ensure proper classification and utilization of donor- and grant-restricted resources
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for the annual audit and work closely with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with applicable nonprofit reporting requirements
- Oversee grant accounting and financial reporting, as applicable
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies and procedures
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and efficiencies
- Partner with leadership and department heads to provide financial insight and support decision-making
- Assist the CFO/finance leadership team with special projects and financial analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior nonprofit accounting experience is required
- Strong fund accounting experience is preferred
- Prior experience managing, supervising, or mentoring accounting staff
- Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
- Experience supporting external audits
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
