SUMMARY

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join their Accounting team on a temporary basis, with the potential to become a permanent employee. This position will provide critical support to the Payroll Manager while a team member is out on leave and will assist with the processing of semi-monthly payroll for a multi-state workforce.


The ideal candidate is a hands-on payroll professional with extensive experience using Workday, including payroll processing, leave of absence administration, and multi-state payroll tax compliance. This individual must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and

comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strict payroll deadlines.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process accurate and timely semi-monthly payroll using Workday.
  • Process and manage leave of absence transactions within Workday.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations across multiple states.
  • Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies prior to processing.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity.
  • Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and internal departments.
  • Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audit support.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate employee information.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive payroll information.
  • Support additional payroll and accounting functions as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive payroll processing experience using Workday. (Required)
  • Experience processing Leave of Absence (LOA) transactions in Workday. (Required)
  • Experience processing payroll for employees in multiple states, including payroll tax compliance. (Required)
  • Several years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • CPP certification or related payroll credentials are a plus.
