Senior Staff Accountant
Playa Vista, CA | Hybrid – 1 Day Onsite/Week
Full-Time | Nonprofit / Public-Interest Technology
We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join a mission-driven, international nonprofit organization focused on supporting a secure, stable, and globally interoperable Internet.

Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis.
- Maintain and analyze General Ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare financial schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external reporting.
- Apply accounting guidance related to ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases).
- Assist with annual audits and provide supporting schedules and documentation to external auditors.
- Analyze account activity, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, and other departments to improve processes, controls, and reporting.
- Support accounting activities involving international operations and stakeholders.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and General Ledger accounting.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
- Exposure to ASC 606 and ASC 842.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Service-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate across departments and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA candidate/tracking toward certification.
- Public accounting or external audit experience.
- Nonprofit accounting experience.
- International accounting experience.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion.
- Experience with Concur.
