This is a hands-on, month-end-focused position responsible for general accounting, inventory and production-cost analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and operational support. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, direct cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment, and the ability to work independently with limited oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze production costs, inventory costs, margins, and cost variances.
  • Maintain accurate inventory accounting records and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare cost reports and provide financial data to support pricing and operational decisions.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and the preparation of internal financial statements and management reports.
  • Process and review invoices and provide support related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Partner with operations and procurement teams to identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Assist with the organization’s transition from Sage 100 to NetSuite.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Approximately 2+ years of accounting experience with inventory exposure.
  • Cost accounting experience within a manufacturing or production environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, inventory costing, and margin analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Growth and increased exposure following a recent acquisition.
  • Opportunity to participate in a NetSuite implementation.
  • Broad responsibilities within a stable, close-knit accounting team.
  • Relaxed office environment with reasonable working hours.
  • Hands-on manufacturing and inventory accounting exposure.
  • Opportunity to expand the position as the organization continues to evolve.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as three weeks of PTO.
