About the Role
We are seeking a responsible, experienced, and hands-on SCM Operations Manager to oversee Wooltari’s supply chain and logistics operations.
This role manages the flow of products from Korea to the United States, including international shipments, customs clearance, warehouse receiving, inventory management, product allocation, and fulfillment.
The SCM Operations Manager will oversee approximately 1,000 SKUs across ambient, refrigerated, and frozen products and will work closely with internal teams, warehouses, 3PL providers, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
The ideal candidate is someone who understands the full supply chain, takes ownership of operational issues, uses data to make decisions, and can identify opportunities to improve and automate processes as Wooltari continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Product Management
- Manage inventory across Wooltari’s headquarters warehouse, external warehouses, East Coast fulfillment center, and retail locations.
- Develop inventory replenishment plans based on sales demand, available inventory, in-transit inventory, lead times, and safety stock.
- Monitor stockouts, overstock, slow-moving products, and products approaching expiration.
- Apply FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles to minimize product expiration and inventory loss.
- Develop inventory allocation plans across B2C, B2B, and retail channels.
- Coordinate inventory transfers and repositioning between locations as needed.
- Analyze inventory adjustments and improve inventory accuracy.
- Support cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and inventory valuation processes.
International & Domestic Logistics
- Manage international ocean shipments from Korea through U.S. arrival and warehouse receiving.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, warehouses, and 3PL providers.
- Manage domestic transportation, including LTL, FTL, local deliveries, and intercompany transfers.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments for ambient, refrigerated, and frozen products.
- Monitor pickup and delivery schedules and resolve transportation delays.
- Resolve receiving discrepancies, inventory shortages, shipping errors, and other logistics issues.
- Review freight quotes and identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs.
- Plan shipment schedules and operational resources based on order volume and warehouse capacity.
Customs & Import Operations
- Monitor international shipments and customs clearance status.
- Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to resolve clearance issues.
- Track and manage FDA holds, customs examinations, and other import-related issues.
- Ensure products subject to regulatory holds are properly identified, segregated, and not released for sale.
- Support the review of import documents, product labels, ingredients, specifications, and food safety information.
- Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturers regarding U.S. import requirements.
- Assess the operational and inventory impact of customs delays and develop contingency plans.
Data & Operational Reporting
- Monitor inventory, logistics, and fulfillment performance using internal systems and reporting tools.
- Track key metrics such as inventory value, days of supply, stockout rate, inventory turnover, and fulfillment performance.
- Analyze COGS, freight expenses, inventory value, and other operational costs.
- Monitor inbound and outbound volume and warehouse productivity.
- Use data to support inventory, logistics, staffing, and operational planning.
- Identify operational risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare recurring reports and dashboards for management.
- Present operational performance and recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify repetitive and manual processes that can be improved or automated.
- Develop and standardize SOPs for inventory, receiving, shipping, customs, and logistics operations.
- Improve communication and data handoffs between departments.
- Reduce missing information, duplicate work, and operational errors.
- Support the development of dashboards, automated alerts, and internal operational tools.
- Use AI tools, workflow platforms, and other technology to improve operational efficiency.
- Develop scalable supply chain processes to support Wooltari’s continued growth.
Cross-Functional & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Product, B2B, Retail, Warehouse, Fulfillment, and Finance teams.
- Manage relationships with 3PL providers, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and external warehouses.
- Coordinate priorities, schedules, and execution across internal teams and external partners.
- Proactively identify and resolve supply chain bottlenecks and operational risks.
- Communicate operational issues and provide timely updates to relevant teams.
- Ensure accurate, safe, and timely receiving, inventory movement, and order fulfillment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse, fulfillment, and office environment.
- Ability to regularly communicate with warehouse teams, carriers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Ability to visit or work with warehouse and fulfillment operations as needed.
- Comfortable working with ambient, refrigerated, and frozen food products.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to respond quickly to time-sensitive logistics and inventory issues.
- Ability to analyze operational data and work extensively with spreadsheets and computer systems.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual English & Korean
- Previous experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory management, operations, or a related field.
- Experience managing domestic and/or international shipments.
- Experience managing inventory across multiple locations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments, vendors, and operational priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to take ownership of operational issues and drive them to resolution.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food, grocery, e-commerce, distribution, or retail operations.
- Experience importing products from Korea to the United States.
- Experience with food imports, customs clearance, FDA holds, or other U.S. food import requirements.
- Experience managing refrigerated or frozen products and cold-chain logistics.
- Experience working with 3PL providers and multi-location warehouse operations.
- Experience with WMS, ERP, inventory management, or other supply chain systems.
- Experience with Shopify or e-commerce operations.
- Experience using Power BI, Hex, or other business intelligence tools.
- Experience developing operational dashboards and reports.
- Experience improving processes through AI tools, automation, or workflow platforms.
- Korean/English bilingual proficiency.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $90,000 – $110,000
