Accounting Manager

We're seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a growing manufacturing organization. This role owns the month-end close process, drives forecasting and budgeting efforts, and serves as a key partner to operations and plant leadership. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all accounts
• Prepare and review journal entries and accruals, including payroll, freight, and operating expense accruals
• Own the balance sheet reconciliation process and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles in partnership with operations and finance leadership
• Perform variance/flux analysis on actuals vs. budget/forecast and provide clear explanations to management
• Partner with plant/operations teams to ensure accurate cost and inventory reporting
• Assist with external audit requests and maintain supporting documentation
• Review and improve internal controls, processes, and month-end checklists
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Support ad hoc financial projects and analysis as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, forecasting, and budgeting
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, QAD, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and plant leadership
• Supervisory or team-lead experience preferred
• Cost accounting experience is a plus
