Full job description

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager / Controller to partner closely with site leadership and corporate finance in supporting the overall financial direction and operational performance of a growing manufacturing business. This individual will serve as a strategic business partner while also remaining actively involved in day-to-day financial operations, analysis, and process improvement initiatives.


The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and tactical level, with the ability to identify underlying financial issues, recommend practical solutions, and help drive business performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Partner with operations to monitor and evaluate inventory valuation and related financial impacts.
  • Analyze profitability across products, business lines, and operational segments.
  • Develop, implement, and improve costing methodologies, including job costing and cost analysis from estimate through completion.
  • Monitor direct and indirect costs and collaborate with operations to improve cost visibility and control.
  • Review customer credit parameters and payment structures in partnership with commercial leadership and established internal guidelines.
  • Support administrative processes related to payroll coordination, employee benefits, and insurance programs in collaboration with internal stakeholders and third-party providers.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning efforts, including short- and long-term financial projections.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and support scalability.
  • Coordinate annual audit activities and assist with tax-related reporting requirements.
  • Support ongoing systems and ERP enhancement initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment required; exposure to highly regulated or project-based manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Cost accounting experience, including job costing and variance analysis, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to partner across departments.
