As Chief Financial Officer, you will partner with executive leadership and key stakeholders to optimize performance, manage risk, and build a high-performing finance function.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the company's financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and long-term growth initiatives.
- Drive accountability, profitability, financial discipline, and operational efficiency across the organization.
- Provide timely financial analysis and business insight to support informed executive decision-making.
- Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with GAAP.
- Manage project accounting, work-in-progress reporting, and job cost management processes.
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks and opportunities across construction operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banking, bonding, insurance, audit, and other external partners.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team while fostering continuous improvement.
Must-Have Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- Strong experience in construction, electrical contracting, or another project-based industry.
- Advanced knowledge of project accounting, WIP reporting, and job cost management.
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience with financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis.
- Experience managing banking, bonding, insurance, and external audit relationships.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and business partnership skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience supporting electrical construction projects and field operations.
- Background leading finance transformation, process improvement, or system implementation initiatives.
- Experience developing project profitability reporting and executive dashboards.
- Knowledge of construction bonding requirements, insurance programs, and contractor risk management.
- Professional certification such as CPA or equivalent advanced finance credential.
