Full job description

  • Community Manager – The Reserve NYC | East Harlem, New York

Be the heartbeat of one of East Harlem's most dynamic residential communities. The Reserve NYC is a premier Class A coliving and furnished apartment community — and we're looking for a Community Manager who can own the resident experience end-to-end while keeping the building's financial engine running strong.

Why This Role

This isn't a back-office admin job. As Community Manager, you're the face of The Reserve — the person residents know, trust, and go to first. You'll blend hospitality-level service with sharp operational and financial execution, working directly alongside the Property Manager with a clear runway toward running your own building. It's a great opportunity for a property management professional ready to level up in a dynamic, amenity-rich residential community.

What You'll Own

● Serve as the primary point of contact for residents — inquiries, concerns, and service requests — delivering fast, professional, hospitality-grade resolutions.

● Lead all collections efforts: monitor delinquency reports, issue late notices, structure payment plans, and coordinate with legal counsel on proceedings when necessary — protecting revenue while preserving resident relationships.

● Communicate proactively with delinquent residents to resolve past-due balances with empathy and professionalism.

● Process rent payments, reconcile accounts, and keep records airtight in our property management software; follow up on outstanding balances daily.

● Drive lease renewals: prepare offers, follow up personally, and process executed documents.

● Coordinate with maintenance and vendors so work orders get resolved fast and residents stay informed of progress.

● Conduct move-in and move-out inspections; document conditions and process security deposit dispositions in accordance with local law.

● Maintain organized, up-to-date resident files, lease records, and correspondence logs.

● Produce delinquency summaries, variance reports, and weekly operating updates for property leadership.

● Support the leasing team with tours and applications as needed; enforce community rules and lease terms consistently and fairly.

What You Bring

● 2+ years of experience in property management, with exposure to collections, accounts receivable, or resident relations strongly preferred.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you can handle difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy.

● Familiarity with New York residential tenancy law, including non-payment proceedings and evictions, is a plus.

● Proficiency in property management software (Yardi, RealPage, AppFolio, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.

● Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through; able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

● Experience with coliving, furnished apartments, or flexible housing models is a plus; bilingual skills are a plus given our diverse resident community.

Compensation & Benefits

● Base salary: $70,000 – $90,000, commensurate with experience

● Strong benefits package including health, dental, and vision

● Significant on-site rent discount

● Direct mentorship from senior property leadership with a defined path toward a Property Manager role

● Opportunity to grow within a dynamic and expanding property management company
