About the Role

HBA is looking for a Concrete Estimator to support our preconstruction team on private commercial concrete construction projects in Anaheim, CA. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive estimates and take-offs for concrete scopes of work, from bid pursuit through award. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of concrete estimating experience and is proficient in Excel and On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software.

What You'll Do

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for concrete scopes (foundations, slabs, tilt-up, structural concrete, flatwork, etc.) using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software

• Prepare complete, accurate cost estimates and bid proposals from drawings, specifications, and project documents

• Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, ready-mix suppliers, and material vendors

• Build and maintain detailed estimate spreadsheets in Excel, including labor, material, and equipment costs

• Identify scope gaps, clarifications, and qualifications needed for bid submissions

• Track bid schedules and deadlines, ensuring timely and complete proposal submittals

• Collaborate with project managers and operations during project handoff to ensure estimate accuracy carries through to execution

• Maintain historical cost data and unit pricing to improve future estimate accuracy

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience estimating commercial concrete or structural construction projects

• Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and industry standard practices

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills

• Clear written and verbal communication skills
