About the Role

We are partnering with a growing commercial construction organization to hire a Commercial Controller. This is a highly visible leadership role supporting multiple business units within a fast-paced, acquisitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and financial operations across multiple entities
• Own financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
• Manage month-end close and general ledger accuracy
• Oversee job costing, WIP schedules, % completion, and billing
• Partner with operations to improve project profitability and cash flow
• Present financial insights in a clear, actionable way to non-finance teams
• Lead and develop a team
• Drive process improvements, controls, and post-acquisition integration

What You Bring

• Commercial construction experience REQUIRED
• Strong expertise in WIP, job costing, and percent-completion accounting
• 6+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
• Experience overseeing multiple entities or business units
• Strong leadership, communication, and EQ
• Ability to translate financials to operational teams
• CPA / ERP experience a plus

• Fully onsite in Sacramento area
• Reports to executive leadership (high visibility role)
