Schedule: 5 Days/Week | 7.5 Hours/Day

Guaranteed Hours per Week: 37.5

Pay: Up to $40.88/hour

Job Summary

Pride Health is seeking an experienced Electroencephalography (EEG) Technologist for a contract opportunity at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York, NY. The EEG Technologist will perform electroencephalography procedures by preparing patients, applying electrodes, operating EEG equipment, and producing accurate recordings to support neurological diagnosis and patient care. The ideal candidate will have prior hospital-based EEG experience and a strong commitment to providing quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for EEG examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort.
• Apply scalp electrodes accurately according to established EEG protocols.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain EEG equipment to obtain high-quality recordings.
• Identify, label, and document EEG tracings and patient information accurately.
• Monitor patients during testing and report any abnormal findings to the appropriate healthcare provider.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and functioning correctly.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one (1) year of EEG Technologist experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• OR Certificate of Completion from an ABRET-recognized EEG training program.
• OR Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program (may substitute for one year of experience).
• Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Strong patient care, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to accurately operate EEG equipment and maintain detailed documentation.
• English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) required.

Preferred Qualifications

• ABRET Certification.
• Additional hospital-based neurodiagnostic experience.
• Experience working in a fast-paced acute care environment.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
