Position: Mammography Technologist

Location: Brooklyn, NY 11012

Job Type: Contract

Contract: 13 Weeks

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours per Week: 40

Pay: $60 - $65/hour


Job Summary

Pride Health is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a 13-week contract opportunity in Brooklyn, NY. The Mammography Technologist will perform routine screening and diagnostic mammography while ensuring accurate positioning, image quality, patient documentation, and compliance with department standards. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of mammography experience and strong knowledge of mammography imaging procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in mammography positioning, compression, and technique factors.
  • Ensure radiographic images are accurately labeled according to department SOPs.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and acceptability.
  • Ensure completed images are transmitted to PACS in a timely manner.
  • Complete all required studies and documentation in IDX.
  • Accurately record required patient tracking information in the appropriate tracking system.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout mammography procedures.
  • Follow established department protocols, radiation safety standards, and infection-control procedures.
  • Work effectively and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
  • Maintain compliance with MQSA requirements and applicable regulatory standards.


Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Mammography experience required.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent education required.
  • Active New York State Diagnostic Radiography License required.
  • Current ARRT certification required.
  • Must maintain all applicable MQSA requirements.
  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Strong knowledge of mammography positioning, compression, and imaging techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
  • English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing both screening and diagnostic mammography.
  • Experience working in a hospital or outpatient imaging environment.
  • Strong knowledge of PACS and IDX systems.
  • Experience with high-volume mammography services.
  • Excellent patient positioning and image-quality evaluation skills.
