Full job description
The Failure Analysis Engineer III will investigate PCB failures, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions across manufacturing and field returns. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and analysis technicians to improve product reliability and manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities
- Analyze top PCB failure modes across product lines and identify root causes
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to implement corrective actions
- Provide failure analysis findings to Manufacturing Engineering and update the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- Support troubleshooting and analysis of field-returned products
- Develop Pareto charts, yield reports, and other tools to identify quality trends
- Develop analysis tools and troubleshooting procedures for new products
- Create fault tree analysis flowcharts and troubleshooting guides
- Support the training and development of analysis technicians
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience with PCB failure analysis, testing, or test solutions
- Strong knowledge of PCB test methods, including In-Circuit, Functional, Embedded, and System-Level testing
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, including SMT and Quality Assurance
- Experience with failure analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Experience with Pareto analysis, yield reporting, and defect tracking
- Familiarity with troubleshooting equipment, procedures, and methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Pay Rate: $45-60/hr
