Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Location: Bronx, NY 10451

Job Type: Contract

Contract: 13 Weeks

Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3 Days/Week

Guaranteed Hours per Week: 34.5

Pay: Up to $84/hour


Job Summary

Pride Health is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) – Labor & Delivery for a 13-week contract opportunity at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, NY. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to maternal and child patients in a Labor & Delivery setting, with responsibilities including patient assessment, IV insertion, phlebotomy, medication administration, and support for procedures requiring conscious sedation. The ideal candidate will have strong Labor & Delivery experience and be comfortable working the night shift in a fast-paced acute care environment.


Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Labor & Delivery setting.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor maternal and fetal status.
  • Provide nursing care throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
  • Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy according to hospital protocols.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered.
  • Assist with procedures requiring conscious sedation and monitor patients appropriately.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to physicians and the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, treatment plans, and postpartum care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
  • Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.
  • Provide care in accordance with current nursing standards and regulatory requirements.


Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Active New York State RN License required.
  • Primary Source Verification of RN License and Registration through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) required.
  • Minimum 2 years of Maternal & Child experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of IV Insertion and Phlebotomy experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of Conscious Sedation experience required.
  • Current AHA BLS Certification required.
  • Current AHA ACLS Certification required.
  • Current NRP Certification required.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Previous experience in a high-volume Labor & Delivery department.
  • Experience caring for high-risk maternal and neonatal patients.
  • Experience working in an urban acute care hospital.
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
