Job Purpose:

Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequences and processes in the manufacture of PCBA’s, sub-assemblies and final assemblies while providing manufacturing engineering support services directly to manufacturing. Designs, modifies, validates, and manages process activities for a specific product or group of products from prototype builds to production release.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • The employee shall participate in NPIs and DFMs on new products prior to release to ensure quality objectives are achieved and efficient assembly methods are in place.
  • The employee shall review existing designs and assembly processes for method improvements that leads to improved quality, productivity and cost reductions.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
  • Ensure all assembly instructions, tooling, fixtures, equipment and consumables are in place at the time of scheduled production startup.
  • Training and direct support of production line personnel in manufacturing processes and assembly methods.
  • Design and modify tools and fixtures to improve manufacturing methods and improve quality
  • Work with Program Managers and customers to implement all ECO/ECN and deviations
  • Must have good communication skills, verbal and written, to properly communicate with customers.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:


  • BS degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a contract manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 & IPC-WHMA-A-620 is desired.
  • Experience in SMT, soldering, cables assembly, conformal coating, mechanical assembly and 3D printing is desired.

ADA REQUIREMENTS:


The key physical requirements for this position include the ability to use standard office equipment including PC’s, fax, and copy machine, movement within a standard office and distribution warehouse area, walking, sitting, standing, climbing, carrying, pushing/pulling and lifting 1–30 pounds occasionally. Telephone use is a must.


EYE EXAM REQUIREMENT:


An annual eye exam is required due to the nature of our business and customer requirements.
