Full job description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical for a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult medical and post-surgical patients in a fast-paced acute care setting. Candidates must have strong clinical assessment skills, experience with medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and telemetry monitoring while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans for medical and post-surgical patients.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, wound care, catheter insertion, and other nursing interventions safely and accurately.
- Monitor vital signs, telemetry, and patient conditions, reporting changes promptly to the healthcare team.
- Provide post-operative care, patient education, and discharge planning to promote optimal recovery.
- Maintain accurate documentation using EMR systems and ensure compliance with nursing standards and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License required.
- AHA BLS certification required (AHA ACLS may be required for specific units).
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital (within the last year).
- Strong skills in physical assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, infection control, post-operative care, patient education, and telemetry monitoring.
- Epic EMR experience preferred.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher from an accredited nursing program.
Important Details:
- 14-week contract position (extensions available)
- Shift is 11.5 hrs/night shift | 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM | 34.5 hrs/week
- Location is New York, NY 10037
- Pay Rate for Locals: $54 - $57 Hourly
- Pay Rate for Travelers: $2,200 - $2,250 Weekly
