I'm currently working with a boutique California litigation practice that is looking to add an Employment Defense Attorney to its growing Labor & Employment team. This is a particularly strong opportunity for an attorney who wants to build deeper expertise in Wage & Hour and PAGA/class action defense while working closely with experienced litigators and taking genuine ownership of matters.

• Wage & Hour + PAGA Focus – Work directly on complex wage-and-hour class and representative actions rather than a generalist Employment docket.
• Litigation From Strategy Through Trial – Get hands-on exposure to drafting, discovery, depositions, trial preparation and other key stages of litigation.
• Experienced Trial Lawyers – Work alongside senior litigators with substantial experience handling complex employment disputes.
• Broader Employment Exposure – Opportunity to work across contentious Employment matters and the compliance issues that can lead to litigation.
• Boutique Environment – Work closely with senior attorneys in a collaborative practice, with greater visibility and responsibility than a larger platform.
• Clear Partner Track – Build toward greater responsibility and long-term progression within the Employment practice.

The Role:

• Defend employers in Wage & Hour, PAGA and class action matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive litigation documents.
• Manage discovery and assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
• Advise clients on employment-related disputes and compliance issues.
• Manage multiple matters while working closely with senior attorneys.
• Take increasing ownership of cases as experience develops.

About You:

• 3–6 years of legal experience.
• Active California Bar admission.
• Experience with California Wage & Hour litigation and class action defense.
• Strong litigation drafting and trial preparation skills.
• Ability to manage matters with increasing independence.
• Workplace mediation experience is a plus.

Location:

• Los Angeles, California.

Package:

• Up to $150,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Approximately 1,600 billable hours.
• Clear partner-track opportunity.
