About the Firm:
A highly regarded New York litigation firm is seeking a Personal Injury Defense Attorney to join its established litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful courtroom exposure, hands-on litigation experience, and the opportunity to develop into a strong trial lawyer.
The practice is primarily focused on Medical Malpractice Defense (approximately 80%) and Construction Liability (approximately 20%), with opportunities to handle a broad range of personal injury defense matters.
The firm has a long-standing reputation for excellence in defense litigation and has been recognized as a Tier 1 Medical Malpractice Law Firm by U.S. News since 2017.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defend personal injury and professional liability matters from inception through resolution
- Handle a significant volume of medical malpractice defense matters
- Work on construction liability and construction defect cases
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Participate in court appearances, hearings, motions, and trial preparation
- Develop litigation strategies and work directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
- Gain substantial hands-on courtroom and trial experience.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active New York Bar membership in good standing.
- 1+ years of legal experience; candidates coming directly out of law school may be considered.
- Personal injury experience preferred.
- Experience with medical malpractice, construction liability, or civil defense litigation is a plus.
- Strong courtroom, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $150,000–$220,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
