Plant Controller

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Plant Controller to serve as the key finance partner to plant operations within the food & beverage manufacturing industry. This role will oversee all plant-level financial activities, driving cost control, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making while supporting plant leadership in achieving performance and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary finance business partner to Plant Leadership, supporting day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives
• Lead all aspects of plant financial reporting, including monthly close, variance analysis, and performance reporting
• Drive cost accounting and inventory management, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cycle counts
• Analyze and optimize manufacturing costs (labor, overhead, materials, waste) to improve plant efficiency and margins
• Partner with Operations to monitor and improve KPIs such as yield, throughput, and labor efficiency
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for the plant
• Ensure strong internal controls and compliance
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and operational enhancements
• Support capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and ROI analysis for plant investments
• Lead and develop plant finance staff (if applicable) while building strong cross-functional relationships

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA a plus)
• 7–12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with strong plant/manufacturing finance experience in food & beverage
• Proven experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of inventory, standard costing, and production variances
• Track record of partnering effectively with plant operations and leadership teams
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environments

Compensation:

$125,000-$150,000

PTO is offered on an accrual basis
