Plant Controller
Location: South Jersey (Greater Philadelphia Area)
Salary: $150-165K
Bonus: 10-15%
A leading global food manufacturing organization is seeking a Plant Controller to join its leadership team at a large-scale production facility in South Jersey. This highly visible role will partner closely with plant operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced manufacturing finance professional looking to make a measurable impact within a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the financial leader for a large manufacturing facility, providing strategic guidance to plant leadership.
- Lead month-end close, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis activities.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, overhead, and production efficiencies to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop financial models and KPI reporting to support operational and business initiatives.
- Partner with operations leaders to improve plant productivity, cost management, and profitability.
- Oversee inventory accounting, cycle count programs, and physical inventory processes.
- Monitor capital expenditures and support investment analysis for plant projects.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting requirements.
- Support annual planning processes and long-range forecasting initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop members of the plant finance team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience as a Plant Controller, Operations Controller, Senior Cost Accountant, or Manufacturing Finance Manager preferred.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience partnering directly with manufacturing and operations leadership teams.
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience required.
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and business partnering skills.
Preferred Experience
- Food manufacturing, consumer products, packaged goods, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting multi-shift production operations.
- Continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or operational excellence exposure.
