Full job description

🔬 Process Engineer – Electroplating | Precision Manufacturing

We're looking for a technically exceptional Process Engineer to join our team and own critical electroplating operations for aerospace, defense, and medical-grade applications.

🎯 THE ROLE

You'll be the go-to technical expert supporting our electroplating operations—designing experiments, solving complex coating challenges, and driving measurable process improvements. This is a hands-on role where your work directly impacts precision components for mission-critical applications.

What you'll own:

  • Process mastery across gold, silver, palladium, nickel, copper, and electroless nickel plating chemistries
  • Experimental design & optimization using DOE and statistical analysis to improve deposit quality, plating rate, and bath stability
  • Failure analysis & problem-solving applying root cause analysis to resolve defects and drive systemic improvements
  • Quality compliance supporting Nadcap accreditation and AS9100D certification
  • Capital projects & innovation leading line upgrades, equipment evaluations, and process development initiatives
  • Technical leadership in process qualification for new customers and part numbers, from coupon testing through FAI

✅ WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, precision finishing, or related technical field
  • Strong foundation in electrochemical principles and coating science
  • Proficiency with engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills

Ideal candidate has:

  • Direct experience in electroplating or electrochemical manufacturing environments
  • Deep knowledge of electrochemical deposition science (Faraday's laws, current efficiency, throwing power, nucleation)
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting multiple bath chemistries in production
  • XRF thickness measurement and composition analysis expertise
  • SPC and DOE application in manufacturing
  • Nadcap facility experience
  • Precious metal and platinum group metal (PGM) plating background
  • Reel-to-reel selective plating equipment knowledge
  • Aerospace/defense industry standards familiarity
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Electroless nickel (EN) expertise
  • Advanced degree in engineering or applied science

🌟 WHY JOIN US
