The Role

We are looking for a Production Supervisor with a genuine passion for excellence and a desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company. This position will be responsible for organizing and overseeing the manufacturing of goods. They will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of a production line(s) and the quality of output.

The ideal candidate will have a deep know-how in production procedures, in addition to the ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance that will set them apart as a leader. Decision-making and problem-solving will take up a great part of their day, as the goal is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements.


Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate associates by providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers, etc.)
  • Liaise with the production Area Manager to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
  • Organize workforce to meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Monitor production to resolve issues.
  • Determine the number of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, etc.)
  • Ensure output meets quality standards.
  • Enforce health and safety precautions.
  • Hold the production team accountable for attendance and workmanship.
  • Daily reports summarizing production and any issues encountered.
  • Identify and mitigate bottlenecks on the line.
  • Keep records of employee training matrices.
  • Communicate to management and the production team to ensure alignment daily.
  • Escalate issues to supervision/engineering.
  • Address and mitigate personnel issues that arise throughout the shift.
  • Uphold shop accountability standards.
  • Order parts/follow up on material issues to keep the line fed.


Qualifications


  • Proven past experience as a production lead
  • Experience managing associates in a manufacturing environment.
  • BSc/Ba in business administration or relevant field is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of production management and experience with lean manufacturing.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
  • Strong knowledge of performance evaluations.
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP software
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
