We are seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead the quality function for a high-growth, private-equity-backed precision machining business serving the aerospace and medical device industries.


This is a successful, well-funded organization investing heavily in people, equipment and continued growth. The Quality Manager will oversee a team of Quality Engineers, CMM Programmers and Inspectors while strengthening quality systems, customer performance and day-to-day execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop 2 Quality Engineers, 2 CMM Programmers and the inspection team
  • Own the facility’s quality systems, procedures and continuous-improvement initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and applicable medical-device requirements
  • Oversee first article inspections, PPAPs, FAIRs, control plans and inspection documentation
  • Lead root-cause analysis, corrective actions and customer-quality responses
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations and customers on new-product launches
  • Improve inspection processes, CMM utilization and overall quality performance
  • Manage internal, customer and registrar audits
  • Monitor KPIs related to scrap, rework, customer complaints, escapes and supplier quality
  • Build a proactive quality culture within a fast-growing machining environment


Qualifications

  • Quality leadership experience within a high-precision CNC machining environment
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace, medical device or similarly regulated manufacturing
  • Experience leading Quality Engineers, CMM Programmers and inspection personnel
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, GD&T, FAIRs and corrective-action systems
  • Strong understanding of machined components, prints, tolerances and inspection methods
  • Comfortable operating at both the strategic and hands-on plant-floor level
  • Strong leadership, communication and customer-facing skills
