Senior Accountant

About the Opportunity

A growing industrial organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team on a contract-to-hire basis. This position offers the opportunity to support a complex accounting environment while partnering closely with operations and leadership teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, experience in manufacturing or project-based environments, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Assist with revenue recognition and project accounting activities.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis initiatives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze operational and financial performance.
• Assist with audits, compliance activities, and internal controls.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and systems enhancements.
• Support day-to-day accounting operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or project-based environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
• CPA designation or progress toward certification is a plus.
• ERP system experience preferred.
