Full job description
- Position: Senior Accountant (6-month contract with potential for permanent hire), based in Montville, NJ, with a hybrid schedule (4 days on-site, 1 day remote).
- Reporting: Reports to the Regional Controller and supports accounting operations for a $50M manufacturing business.
- Core Responsibilities: Lead month-end/year-end close, prepare financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Accounting Expertise: Manage Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting, revenue recognition, cost accounting, and ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.
- Financial Analysis: Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and analyze project costs, inventory, and gross margins in partnership with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations.
- Operational Support: Assist with audits, internal controls, ERP enhancements, and oversee day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, fixed assets, and reporting.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 4+ years of accounting experience (manufacturing and/or public accounting preferred), strong Excel skills, and knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and POC accounting. CPA preferred.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with Power BI, SQL, ERP systems (M3, Jobscope, SAP), IFRS 15, ASC 606, IFRS 16, financial system implementations, and bilingual English/Spanish.
