Senior Accountant – Full-Time Engagement Professionals (San Francisco)

Join our growing San Francisco Full-Time Engagement Professionals (FTEP) practice as a Senior Accountant, where you’ll support a diverse portfolio of clients while gaining exposure to complex accounting environments and high-impact projects.


This opportunity is ideal for professionals with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience who are looking to expand their technical expertise, drive process improvements, and make an immediate impact across multiple organizations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and full financial statements
  • Own and drive month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Oversee AP/AR, payroll, and cash management activities, identifying opportunities for process optimization
  • Perform variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Maintain and improve general ledger integrity, ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Partner directly with client leadership (Controllers, CFOs) to resolve complex accounting issues and improve workflows
  • Support audit readiness, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external auditors
  • Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce close timelines


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong command of GAAP and technical accounting concepts
  • Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Intacct, etc.)
  • Proven ability to own workflows, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience with process improvement, system implementations, or automation initiatives is a plus
  • Ability to quickly adapt and add value across dynamic client environments
