Senior Accountant | Multi-Family Office | Roselle, IL (Hybrid, 3 days/week)

Connect Search's client a CPA + wealth management + family office firm outside Chicago, working with high-net-worth individuals and the businesses they own. They're looking for someone at least 2–3 years into their tax career who wants to do real work — not sit in meetings about the work.

Two ways this role can go, depending on what you want:

→ Tax-focused path: Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership returns for HNW clients and their business holdings.

→ Hybrid tax + accounting path: Split your time between tax prep and outsourced accounting work for HNW clients' business holdings — manufacturing, distribution, hospitality, habitational, construction/contracting, professional services, and more. If you like variety and want exposure to how these businesses actually run, not just how they're taxed, this track is built for you.

Either way, you're not boxed in — this is shaped around what you're good at and what you want to get better at.

What you'd actually be doing:

→ Individual, corporate, and partnership tax return preparation

→ (If hybrid track) outsourced accounting/bookkeeping-adjacent work across a real mix of industries

→ Second-level review of junior staff's work — mentorship, not micromanagement

→ Working alongside a tax + wealth management team that actually talks to each other

→ Building toward more client-facing responsibility over time, on your timeline

What actually matters for this role:

→ At least 2–3 years of tax prep experience (individual, corporate, partnership)

→ Interest or experience in accounting/bookkeeping is a plus if you want the hybrid track — not required for the tax-only path

→ CPA is nice-to-have, not a gatekeeper

→ You care more about doing good work than chasing a title

→ You'd thrive in a collaborative firm, not a cutthroat one
