About the role
The Senior Specialist, Laboratory IT & Systems Support serves as the primary operational liaison between Technical Development laboratories and Information Technology partners. The role is responsible for supporting laboratory computing environments, instrument-connected systems, laboratory software deployment, infrastructure coordination, and end-user support activities that enable scientific operations. The position partners closely with Laboratory Operations, Laboratory Information Services (LIS), Digital & Data, instrument vendors, Facilities, Quality, and scientific organizations to ensure laboratory technology remains compliant, secure, operational, and aligned to business needs
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage lifecycle activities for laboratory computers and instrument-connected workstations.
- Coordinate new computer deployments, replacements, upgrades, and retirement activities.
- Maintain CMDB records and laboratory technology inventories.
- Coordinate operating system, security patching, and compliance activities.
- Support laboratory instrument software, vendor applications, and connectivity requirements.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and technology issues impacting laboratory operations.
- Coordinate network port activations and infrastructure requests for instruments and laboratory equipment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for laboratory technology support requests.
- Partner with IT, LIS, Digital & Data, Facilities, Quality, and instrument vendors to resolve issues and deliver solutions.
- Support laboratory expansions, relocations, renovations, and startup activities.
- Lead or support laboratory technology projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, standards, and support procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting laboratory computing environments, laboratory systems, or scientific instrumentation.
- Experience supporting research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or regulated laboratory environments.
- Experience coordinating with instrument vendors and enterprise IT organizations.
- Strong troubleshooting, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management experience.
The salary range provided for this contract role represents our good faith estimate for this position. Within the range, individual offers will vary based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, location and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process (W2 or C2C).
