ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Senior Property Manager supporting a globally recognized commercial real estate leader, you will oversee operational excellence and asset value across a prominent 1.5M sq ft Peninsula portfolio. Operating onsite out of Palo Alto with light local travel, you will directly lead an onsite Property Manager and Property Administrator to deliver high-touch tenant relations and sound financial stewardship. This contract-to-hire engagement is designed as an accelerated runway into a long-term permanent leadership role with a premier industry brand.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Drive daily operations, physical maintenance, and tenant satisfaction across a high-value 1.5 million square foot regional property portfolio.
- Supervise, mentor, and empower an onsite Property Manager and Property Administrator to ensure seamless operations and continuous team development.
- Lead full-cycle property accounting, including annual budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting, month-end closing, and account reconciliation.
- Manage vendor contracts, negotiate lease terms, and lead capital improvement initiatives to preserve asset quality and optimize net operating income.
- Inspect sites and resolve complex operational or tenant challenges across property locations in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and San Mateo.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years of progressive commercial or mixed-use property management experience with proven operational success.
- Strong financial acumen, including deep proficiency in Excel, variance analysis, account reconciliations, and annual budget planning.
- Direct experience managing property personnel and overseeing third-party vendor contracts.
- Working knowledge of lease administration, property tax compliance, and local real estate regulations.
- Familiarity with industry property management platforms (MRI software experience is a strong plus) and a Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, or a related field.
- Preferred - active real estate license

COMPENSATION
This engagement offers a competitive hourly rate of $66/hr, with a planned salary step-up upon conversion to permanent status.
