Senior Tax Manager

We're looking for a strong Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join a growing firm in LA. If you want to be in a close-knit environment and enjoy mentoring and training staff, this would be a great role for you! The partners are looking for a leader who's hands-on, collaborative, and excited by tackling challenging tax topics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and manage tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and trusts. Prepare tax projections and develop tax planning strategies. Conduct tax research as needed.
• Review and adjust Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain tax impacts, assist with balance and estimated payments, and gather necessary information for tax preparation.
• Manage multiple client deadlines simultaneously, focusing on both accuracy and timely completion.
• Mentor junior preparers, review tax preparations from junior associates, provide constructive feedback and serve as a knowledgeable resource for questions.

Qualifications:

• CPA highly preferred.
• 7+ years in tax experience from a CPA firm. Exposure to real estate industry is a plus.
• Experience with tax software such as Lacerte, CCH Prosystems, UltraTax.
• Well versed in the tax code with knowledge of tax sections such as Sec. 199A Qualified Business Income Deduction, Sec. 163 Interest Limitation, Sec. 754 Step-up in basis, K-2 filing requirements, Tax basis capital and retirement plans.
• Comprehensive understanding of payroll taxes.
• Experience with chart of accounts, general journals, creating reports and processing bank reconciliations.
