Staff Accountant
Location: Torrance, CA
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Staff Accountant looking to expand their experience, gain exposure to the full accounting cycle, and grow into more senior accounting and finance responsibilities. You'll work closely with leadership, contribute to key financial processes, and play an integral role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding verification, approvals, and timely payment processing.
- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation.
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
- Support month-end close activities by preparing schedules, analyzing transactions, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on outstanding balances, and resolve deductions, credits, and payment discrepancies.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness and strong internal controls.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives that support the continued growth of the accounting function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Manufacturing industry experience required; aerospace industry experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated professional with strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
