Technical Specialist Durability NVH CAE

Scope of Role

Technical Specialist Durability, NVH is primarily responsible for planning, managing and executing domain specific project activities as per client’s expectations, ensuring maximum team utilization & project level profitability.


Support business development activities, including RFQs, technical proposals, estimations, and capability presentations related to NVH, Durability, and Crash & Safety. · Provide technical inputs, scope definition, effort estimation, and risk identification during bidding and proposal phases. Engage with internal sales and leadership teams to identify opportunities for value addition, method-based differentiation, and expanded CAE scope.


Area of Responsibility

This position is responsible to lead a Durability, NVH team under the supervision of CAE regional head/ SME to arrange and provide technical training and create a competitive environment and accountability among team members. You will have responsibility for:

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Foremost responsibility includes maximizing project team utilization while ensuring maximization of project level contribution margins.
  • Needs to ensure that adequate training related to Durability, NVH Domain is provided to the team of engineers who are working on the project to make sure they are fully capable of delivering project deliverables. A Technical Specialist is typically assisted by Team Leads who handle Team Members from Durability, NVH Team.
  • Carry out regular technical Durability, NVH analysis perspective activities which include interfacing with customer for day-today operational activities.
  • Provide necessary support to SMEs and other team members to help them create Knowledge Database for Durability, NVH, safety Domain.
  • Day today interaction with offshore Manager for durability, Safety, NVH domain project developments. As model build/ analysis phase of a module is completed, a presentation is made to the client. Suggestions/feedbacks from the client are discussed with the Program Manager, and onsite coordinator to ensure that changes are incorporated accordingly.
  • Ensure adequate domain-specific and cross-domain training for team members so they are fully equipped to meet project and customer expectations.
  • Mentor engineers and team lead to support career progression, technical depth, and accountability for assigned work.

Method & Capability Development

Lead and contribute to method development initiatives in NVH and adjacent CAE domains (Durability, Crash & Safety), including Standardization of analysis workflows Development of best practices, templates, and SOPs Enhancement of correlation, post-processing, and reporting methodology.

Technical Consultancy (Durability, NVH & Crash & Safety)

Act as a technical consultant to internal teams and clients for NVH, Durability, and Crash & Safety topics across vehicle and system levels. Support customers during early program phases, concept evaluation, and issue investigations, providing robust engineering judgement and recommendations. Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and CAE walkthroughs to establish TTL as a trusted technical partner rather than a pure execution vendor.


Knowledge / Experience – 12 to 20+ years, preferably in automotive application

Essential:

  • Should have work experience in any CAE Pre-and Post-processor, Preferably ANSA/ Nastran / Optistruct /Abaqus /Lsdyna or any other reverent CAE tools.
  • Experience in analysis and post processing of full vehicle trim level analysis and sub system level modal analysis, NTFs and VTFs.
  • Past experience in providing BIW / closures / Full Vehicle related counter measures and design suggestions.
  • Knowledge of optimization techniques and processes.
  • Experience in CAE to test co-relation, vehicle target settings and refinements as per latest automotive trends.
  • Experience of least one complete vehicle development process. Should have experience in working with design and development team.
  • Theoretical knowledge of finite element analysis. Good communication, report writing, technical documentation and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of different regulatory and non-regulatory requirements.
  • Should have cross domain basic knowledge of Safety and Durability.
  • Should have handled projects with minimum team size of 10 or more.
  • Experience in conflicts management and customer handling.


Qualification:

  • BE/ B. Tech / M Tech in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering from a recognized university.
