Account Manager

Full job description
The Mission: Are you ready to revolutionize the meat industry?
At Cream Co., we’re not just selling meat—we’re building a more resilient, transparent, and sustainable supply chain. We’re challenging a hyper-consolidated industry dominated by factory farms and creating opportunities for small ranchers to meet the demand of discerning chefs. We believe that delicious, humanely-raised, and regeneratively-farmed meat should be the rule, not the exception. We work with a broad range of foodservice and retail businesses throughout California including restaurants, corporate cafeterias, hotels/resorts, public schools, universities, and retail butchers.
As an Account Manager you are at the front lines of this work. You’ll be the bridge between our network of passionate, regenerative ranching partners and the chefs, institutions, and retailers who are casting a vote for a healthier supply chain. If you’re a problem-solver who obsesses over details, thrives on building relationships, and is deeply adaptable to changing priorities, you belong at the table.
Your Role: The Pulse of the Cream Co. Community
The purpose of Cream Co’s Account Managers is to ensure our customers’ needs are met and that Cream Co retains the business it currently has while identifying opportunities to grow. You’re responsible for helping to maintain the delicate balance between supply and demand. You’ll transform transactional order management into a strategic partnership, driving growth for our ranching partners and maximizing the market potential of our unique protein programs.
Key Responsibilities & Impact
- Front Line Sales: You are the primary point of contact for our customers. You’ll build rapport, solve the “micro-frustrations” of daily operations, and create deep, collaborative partnerships between Cream Co, its customers, and our vendors.
- Intelligence & Growth: You’ll maintain a consistent "phone-first" cadence to gather insights. You aren’t just an order-taker; you’re uncovering opportunities to introduce new SKUs, discuss menu changes, and share the stories of the farms we represent. You’re naturally curious, bringing a solution-oriented mindset to everything you do.
- Operational Excellence: You’ll navigate complex business documents—purchase orders, planning reports, and pricing—with precision. You are the guardian of accuracy in our order management software, ensuring our products reach their destination on-time and in-full.
- Strategic Allocation: You’ll collaborate with purchasing and warehouse teams to maintain the healthy balance between supply and demand, ensuring we optimize our inventory while respecting the finite resources of our ranching partners.
- Championing Transparency: You’ll communicate clearly across departments, ensuring that the transparency and quality standards we promise our community are upheld from farm to fork.
Skills & Specifications:
- Mission-Aligned: You are genuinely passionate about Cream Co’s mission. You’re passionate about sales while representing a system-wide shift toward better land stewardship and animal welfare.
- The Data-Driven Relationship Builder: You have a love for numbers and talent for data processing, but you use that data to drive human connections. You’re comfortable with sales CRM and order management tools (ex: NetSuite, Vistatrac, Pipedrive, Google Suite), but even more comfortable picking up the phone to pursue an opportunity or solve a problem.
- Resilient & Solution-Oriented: You confront challenges with a "how can we fix this?" attitude rather than a "that’s not my job" mindset. You are highly adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift daily.
- Team Player: You value respect, transparency, and kindness. You are looking to be part of a culture that prioritizes professional development, respects the work-life balance, and celebrates the art of great customer service.
- Experienced: You have a solid grasp of basic business principles and are either already competent in ERP/order management software or have a relentless curiosity to learn new systems quickly.
Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year
