Accounting Manager

A Leading Services Company located in Middlesex County, New Jersey is searching for an Accounting Manager with responsibilities as follows:

• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met and financial information is accurate.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, account analyses, and supporting schedules.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other general ledger accounts.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, and other transactional accounting activities as needed.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances, unusual activity, and accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist with year-end audit requirements and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with established accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and GAAP.
• Partner with other departments to resolve accounting issues and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, reporting, and overall operational efficiency.
• Support and mentor accounting staff while helping to prioritize workflow and meet departmental deadlines.

Qualified Candidates for the Accounting Manager role should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including strong month-end close and general ledger experience.
• Prior supervisory or accounting management experience preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting systems.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

The total compensation range for the Accounting Manager role is from $135,000 to $150,000 with a competitive benefits package.
