Position: Accounts Receivable and Claims Specialist

Location: Marina Del Rey, CA (Fully Onsite)
Pay Rate: $35-40/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
Duration: Temp-to-hire
Position Summary:
A growing Wellness and Active Lifestyle Brand specializing in beverages and fitness consumer goods is seeking an Accounts Receivable and Claims Specialist to join its Accounting team. This role will own the full accounts receivable cycle for an assigned portfolio of customers while supporting deductions management, collections, chargeback recovery, and account reconciliations.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Manage the full accounts receivable process for an assigned customer portfolio, including invoicing, collections, cash application, account reconciliations, and payment follow-up.
- Research and resolve retailer deductions, chargebacks, shortages, pricing discrepancies, and promotional billbacks while partnering with internal teams to validate and document findings.
- Monitor customer aging reports, identify collection risks, and help maintain healthy customer account balances.
- Track and recover chargebacks and compliance-related claims while maintaining accurate supporting documentation and reporting.
- Prepare account analyses, support month-end close activities, and assist with audit requests and financial reporting.
- Partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve customer issues and improve overall account health.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of Accounts Receivable, Collections, Credit, or related accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of AR processes, account reconciliations, and customer account management.
- Experience with retailer deductions, chargebacks, trade promotions, or claims is a plus but not required. Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across departments and with external customers.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within consumer products, food & beverage, retail, manufacturing, or distribution environments is highly preferred.
